Decisions Decisions
I woke up to a horrible email 48h ago: "North Korea has closed Rason". Tourism lasted... literally less than 2 weeks and the country was shut once again.
If you've followed this newsletter for a while, you know I always speak of windows of opportunity. If you want to go everywhere, some places are more pressing than others. Canada will likely always be open to tourism. North Korea? Not so much.
You need to jump at the opportunity.
And as that window closed, another door opened: "Pyongyang Marathon" organized by the Athletics Association of North Korea.
"I've never run in my life" I thought to myself. Fuck. But the greenlight was there... and so the rest is history.
In 24h I reshuffled all the pieces of this puzzle of a calendar that is my life right now... and voilà! With a bit of work and a few favors, all the pieces fell into place.
It seems I'm an athlete now, running the Pyongyang Marathon in April 6th. Hope my knee holds for 10k so I can finish in the Stadium.
Everything happens for a reason (or a Rason), and now we definitely have more time to get the Sudanese visas, so that should also fall into place.
If you want to jump on this window of opportunity and join me in these last 3 countries, just apply! We're closing logistics as we speak:
- North Korea: Pyongyang Marathon: April 1st - 8th (Whatsapp us or reply to this email)
- Sudan: April 10th-12 (Whatsapp us or reply to this email)
- Russia: April 14th-20th
These will be small groups, led by me.
